Landscape architects analyze, plan, design, manage, and nurture the built and natural environments. Landscape architects have a significant impact on communities and quality of life. They design parks, campuses, streetscapes, trails, plazas, and other projects that help define a community.
CHANGE IS NEEDED
Georgia is one of the most diverse states in the country. Regrettably, the membership of GAASLA doesn’t reflect the makeup of our local towns and cities. Currently, only 1% of ASLA members identify as African American or as a person of color. Change must occur to identify with our communities that are transformed every day by our profession. We must try harder. GAASLA will fight for equitable, inclusive design, and more broadly for the fair treatment of all humans. As a profession, we have the honor to design and plan the future. We pledge to build an organization that meets these values and goals.
